On Tuesday, October 18, 2011 our beloved president, Ray Mundy, was killed in a tragic accident at his home. It was a day that broke the hearts of all those who loved Ray, and there are many of us.
Ray served in the capacity of HVHS president for more than 20 years and he left an indelible mark on our organization. His 'President's Letter' appears at the beginning of our next issue of Pawssibilities! (due in your mailbox soon) is particularly poignant. In it he mentions "honesty, integrity, courage, loyalty and humor" with regard to animal artwork; how ironic that these same words befit Ray.
Ray abhorred bullies and stood his ground against dishonesty. He was a man of the highest caliber of ethics and expected the utmost from himself and never disappointed his family and friends. As his friend, I knew no one more loyal and no one I could rely on greater than Ray. As his fellow executive at the HVHS, I had the good fortune to learn and be guided by this exceptional man; for countless reasons I will be forever grateful to him.
His vision for the HVHS will be fulfilled and he will be with us every step of the way. Ray had the foresight to relocate the HVHS to our current home, a 5-acre parcel of land in Pomona" everything we do there honors him for no other individual has done more for our county's animals than he. Thank you Ray, godspeed my friend and watch over us all.
Ann Marie Gaudio
Executive Vice President
